Bacolod Jazz Festival 2011

Picture this... roofdeck, cool breeze, full moon and a bunch of jazz enthusiasts! We undoubtedly have our own version of "good times" last night!

Just a little info I got, there were only two legs of this jazzfest outside Manila. One is Boracay and the other is Bacolod. I bet all the music aficionados in Boracay were having a blast with jazz by the beach as much as we enjoyed it here in Bacolod.

Here are the cool people on stage:

Bacolod's very own - Nancy Brew

Mishka Adams

Logic - a fusion quartet from Australia

SinosiKat?

and of course the pioneer of Pinoy contemporary jazz...

Boy Katindig

I was simply amazed at how these musicians blend together when they had the jam session at the end of the night (actually it was early morning na).

I thought the guy in the middle has the best sounding sax among the three... I guess the wooden part of it makes the difference.

The venue... L'Fisher Chalet Roofdeck
Too bad I don't have a good picture of the full moon and starlit sky above us. ;)

The bottle that graced the tables... syempre sponsor ng San Miguel.

Hmmm... next year ulit! I definitely want more! ;)

Don't Hate The Morning After

Think of the weekend nights when you were having a blast. You screamed so loud and talked so much that your jaw hurts and you may have not noticed those five wicked mojitos you just drank. Before you knew it, you're on your way to hangover-ville! Boy, it's going to hurt the morning after.

So if you have plans of another drinking binge with your buddies tonight, read on (while you're still sober enough to read) and take some mental note of what you're going to need the next morning. Or rather, afternoon. ;)

There is no "one size fits all" cure for hangover. Just find what works for you. Here are my suggestions:

SLEEP
Sleep. Sleep. Sleep. Your body needs to recuperate. Since I'm the queen of oversleeping, this one works well for me.

WATER/SMOOTHIES/GATORADE
You lost a lot of fluid and electrolytes. You need to rehydrate big time buddy! Drink lots and lots of fluid.

 EGGS
Cysteine in eggs helps to get rid of the nasty toxins brought by alcohol. Pair it with SAUSAGES for extra load of protein! Yum!

INSTANT NOODLES or BOUILLON SOUP
The noodles go down easy. Good for re hydration and replacement of salt and potassium.Oh, I love the feel of hot soup flashing down my tummy.

FRUIT and FRUIT JUICES
It helps to replenish vitamins and nutrients you lost and gets rid of the toxins fast. I prefer watermelons 'coz it has lots of water in it, good for re hydration. Bananas are a good source of potassium too.

DRY TOAST
To those who don't like the grease, this works.  Or you can have pancakes too. Carbs are your friends at this time.

ALKA SELTZER
I guess it's the fizz that works for some.

TAKE A SHOWER
You may feel a bit woozy at first but you'll feel better afterwards.

So there you go. Go easy on your drinking tonight! And please be safe... don't drink and drive!
